Jump Cut Editors are thrilled to have once again completed work on Netflix’s latest season of ‘Formula 1: Drive to Survive.’
With unprecedented access, Season 5 takes viewers through the 2022 season, which saw Max Verstappen dominate the grid to claim his second world title. But, not without its fair share of drama and controversy both on and off the track.
Produced by Box to Box Films, the multi-award winning sports docuseries, saw Jump Cut founder Alex Holden on board for the first time, and returning editor extraordinaire Alex Young.
In The Edit
Over the course of three months, both Alex’s were responsible for cutting everything from the dramatic race edits, to interviews and behind the scenes off track narratives. Together working on 3 episodes in the 10 part series.
They were onboard for Episode 7, ‘Hot Seat.’ As the Red Bull team pushes to build on their lead against Ferrari, all eyes are on Sergio “Checo” Pérez during a dramatic Monaco Grand Prix, with the stakes and tensions high, for both driver and team.
In addition, Alex Holden was responsible for editing content in Episode 9 ‘Over the Limit.’ With both championships within their reach, Red Bull face accusations from rival teams over alleged financial breaches over the budget cost cap, which threatens to derail their season. The controversy sees familiar foes Christian Horner and Mercedes’ Toto Wolff locking horns once more.
Whilst Alex Young also completed work on Episode 10 ‘End of the Road.’ With all eyes on the final Grand Prix of 2022 in Abu Dhabi, where Ferrari fights to hold off Mercedes and McLaren hopes for a miracle to overtake Alpine.
It’s been a huge privilege to once again collaborate with the incredible team at Box to Box Films for our third season.
All 10 episodes are available to stream now on Netflix.
“Just wanted to say a huge thank you for all your work on Season 5, it was an epic slog! It’s been a pleasure working with you. Thanks again for your titanic efforts to get these across the line.”
