As part of this year’s Sky Sports coverage of the Masters, Jump Cut Editors were commissioned by Octagon and Milkmoney to edit a 30” TVC for Delta Airline’s sponsorship of golf’s first major of the season.

Using a mixture of original 4k footage, archive material and bespoke parallax imagery, we are taken on a journey highlighting the similarities shared between Delta and the Masters as they strive for perfection.

Opening on a golf ball revealing the Masters logo, the club draws back in super slow motion. We then cut to the parallax movement of a Delta plane, giving the illusion it’s moving in the same direction as the golf club swing, thus subtly establishing Delta’s inaugural tournament as International Partner of the Masters.

The key to the edit was slowly and subtly building the pace by intercutting between footage of Delta & iconic Masters imagery. From slow motion macro photography of a singular stitch of a sewing machine like a piston going up and down on the Masters yellow and green flag. To the blades of grass being intricately hand cut, revealing the attention to detail undertaken.

As the tempo of the edit increases towards the end, we cut back to reveal the same opening shot as the club swings to make contact with the ball. Cutting to a drone shot over the iconic course at Augusta National Golf Club, with the tagline ‘You Keep Climbing.’

The TVC will be aired throughout the Masters, which runs from the 5th – 8th April 2018, along with numerous digital social content also created for the campaign.
