Jump Cut Editors are thrilled to have worked on Season 2 of ‘Betraying the Badge,’ with Pulse Films for US broadcast giant Vice TV. The docuseries narrated by Ice-T, unravels true-life stories of how police officers turn to a life of crime.
The series shines a light on the harrowing truths about the highest level of police extortion, bribery and corruption seen in the US. From the transportation of narcotics to stolen art and the federal indictments that follow suit.
David Hughes was selected to work on this project, bringing his extensive experience in true crime documentaries. Editing episode two, ‘The Dirty 30,’ of the six-part series.
The film tells a story from 1994, of the 30th Precinct in Harlem, New York. Over 30 NYPD officers were arrested for the stealing and trafficking of drugs and convicted of perjury, civil rights infractions, theft, tax evasion and dealing narcotics.

David worked remotely on this project, cutting on Avid over the course of ten weeks. Featuring first-hand interviews and archive material, the film combines personal, character-driven accounts told by the people who lived through it.
