We’re thrilled to share our latest project at Jump Cut Editors: ‘Mark Hughes – Redemption.’ A 30-minute sports documentary for the BBC’s ‘Legends of Welsh Sport’ series, directed by the multiple award-winning Stewart Sugg.

This was our first collaboration with Barn Media. And it was an absolute privilege to help bring Mark Hughes’ incredible story to life.

David Sinclair, BFE was the perfect fit for this project, using his natural storytelling skills to craft Hughes’ journey. From his roots in the small Welsh village of Ruabon, before rising to stardom at Manchester United, his struggles at Barcelona, and his eventual redemption and triumphant return to United, where he played a key role in their 1991 Cup Winners’ Cup victory over Barcelona. Cementing his legacy as a United and Welsh legend!

Interviewing Icons and Expert Editing

The documentary features in-depth personal insights from football icons David Beckham, Sir Alex Ferguson and Gary Lineker. And the man central to it all – Sparky.

Cut remotely on Avid, the editing process was an exciting challenge for David. Working closely with Stewart, they blended the emotional depth of Hughes’ journey through interviews with the fast-paced energy of football, elevated by classic archive footage and a nostalgic soundtrack.

I really enjoyed working with David again. He really got stuck in and I really appreciated the care, skill and hard work he put into it – which I think really shows.

Stewart Sugg, Director

A huge thank you to everyone involved for trusting us with the project and for this amazing collaboration.
