Jump Cut Editors has worked on Drugs Map of Britain Series 2, with Alex Young editing episode one of the returning BBC Three documentary series.
The second series explores the real world of drug use and dealing across the UK. It examines contemporary drug culture, addiction, and the impact on local communities. Each episode focuses on a different location, offering an unfiltered look at how drugs shape lives in Britain today.
Episode one, edited by Alex Young, travels to Leeds. It meets men in their twenties who regularly use sex pills and examines the growing trend of drug combinations designed for extended ‘weekenders’. The episode also follows a local dealer mixing cocaine and Viagra, revealing the risks and realities behind this emerging pattern of use.
Working closeley with the production team, the edit balances hard-hitting material with intimate, character-led storytelling. Personal narratives remain front and centre, while the episode highlights broader social impacts.
Congratulations to Alex and all involved on the launch of the new series.
Drugs Map of Britain Series 2 aired on 13 February 2024 on BBC Three and is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
